Noting that the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) is a “responsible grouping of people,” Attorney General Anil Nandlall, SC, has said that history would show that Guyana prospers when the party is in office.
“We know that we have to carry this country on our shoulders,” Nandlall stated during the televised programme “Budget in Focus 2025.”
“The history of Guyana has shown that whenever the PPP is out of government, the country decays. There is economic decline,” Nandlall posited.
He also noted that when the PPP/C is out of office, there is social disorder, a breakdown of democracy and the rule of law.”
“There is social cohesion. There is law and order in the country. Whether you want to accept that or not, that is what the history of this country records and has recorded,” he firmly stated. He noted that is the difference between the Opposition and the PPP/C.
The AG said that the party has delivered on every single promise made during the 2020 elections. In contrast, he said the APNU+AFC failed to deliver on its manifesto promise during their time in office.
“When we go to the electorate at an election time, we can say to them, ‘You have elected us based on these promises, and we have delivered them to you.’ And we are coming back to you for you to renew our mandate to continue to deliver these new sets of promises now,” the AG noted.
