The Ministry of Housing proudly concluded a highly productive year, announcing that 10,377 land allocations were completed as of December 27, 2024.
This achievement demonstrates the government’s ongoing dedication to addressing the growing demand for housing across Guyana.
Out of the total allocations,10,216 plots were designated for residential use, providing thousands of families the opportunity to build their homes and establish a stable foundation for the future. An additional 157 plots were allocated for residential-commercial purposes, encouraging small-scale enterprises within communities.
Four plots were also granted for religious purposes, reflecting the ministry’s inclusive approach to development. Beyond this, lands were allocated for commercial and industrial use, underscoring a broader strategy to foster economic growth alongside residential development.
Reflecting on the year’s success, the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to equitable access to land and the creation of sustainable communities.
The allocation process has been instrumental in empowering families to own property while also supporting Guyana’s broader vision of economic and infrastructural progress.Looking ahead to 2025, the ministry has announced plans to distribute an additional 10,000 house lots.
